Cuaba Distinguidos Review

Cuaba Distinguidos
Cuaba Distinguidos
The Cuaba brand was first introduced in London in 1996. Cuaba is the Taino Indian word for the special Cuban bush used to light the “Cohiba” or “Tobacco”. The whole Cuaba range including the Cuaba Distinguidos is in the uncut figurados format which was popular in England at the beginning of the 20th century. The drink accompanying my Distinguidos once again was the fantastic new low carb Tasmanian beer; Cascade Green . The uncut figurados are apparently particularly hard to make and demand a lot of skill from their torcedores.

The construction however is flawless with a beautiful medium brown, oily wrapper.

I lit up using my Vector Tripump triple jet desk lighter and the cigar lit easily. As with most uncut figurados I burnt the side a little as I found it difficult to light just the nipple or tip of the cigar with the triple jet flame. The Cuaba Distinguidos starts a little mild but as you work through the tip it begins to offer the delicious Cuaba flavours one would expect. Wonderful herbal and grassy notes were present during the first third with the flavour and volume of smoke intensifying during the second third. The ash is consistent with the best from Habanos; solid and mainly white in colour. Wow! This cigar continues to impress and ended as it begun, offering tasty Cuaba herbal and aged tobacco flavours in its final third.

This cigar offers flawless construction and draw and should become an essential in any humidor as it has in mine. I rate the Distinguidos very highly and score it a 9/10!

David, I tried the Cuaba Salomones on Saturday with a very refreshing Mojito drink! Mate I have to tell you it was amazing and I have already ordered by box fo 10’s! It would be great to read your review about it! I would give it 8/10 would have given it 10 but the draw was a little bit tight.
